On Friday, January 28, Gray Television’s NBC affiliate WILX in Lansing made local history as the first Lansing TV station to broadcast its newscasts in high definition.
It’s a noteworthy day for me– January 28, 2011. WILX-TV has gone hi def and we’re all excited. From now on you’ll notice our “hi def highlights” as we like to call them. And are they ever slick. You need hi def television but now you get all the local highlights in hi def here off of WILX-TV. All of the cameras shooting sporting events in the area are state of the art hi def cameras. The pictures are fantastic.
This has been an enormous undertaking of new equipment and procedures and I’m not the most adept with computers and other digital equipment that are a part of our daily lives. But it’s exciting nonetheless and it’s a project we’ve worked on since early last year. We’ve launched and we’re up to speed with any television station in the country. Hope you like our hi def highlights you will now see including Sundays on the Staudt show for an hour at 11am.
